Would you want to live forever?

Today we watched a short video in class that pertained to humans being able to live forever. To obtain this luxury, you would have to get your brain cells scanned into a computer system then live through something similar to a television monitor. To live forever sounds like something you just can't pass up but when actually given the opportunity, would it be as enjoyable as one would think? Humans aren't immortal for a reason and when scientist begin to "play God" terrible consequences seem to follow suit. Things like over population and sacredness of natural and unnatural resources will occur, which then becomes extremely unfair to those living a natural life. Then what happens if there is a glitch in the system controlling the lives of millions of people (which occurs in the video), do they all just die? And these are just two of many factors that can occur. So in my opinion, I say living forever won't be be a luxury but instead a curse and that one should live there best "natural"life so they would be content enough to not want to live a million more.

Summary

The excerpt from the article " The Long Trail" is about a speaker comparing his limited media experiences as an adolescence in the seventies and eighties to unlimited options of the common day adolescence of the twentieth century. He sums up both experiences in two words, niches and hits. Meaning, in the seventies and eighties technology wasn't as advance as it was today and there was very limited options for mass communication. Therefore, in order to reach the big screen or any screen for that matter, what you did had to be major or in others words, a hit. But now that the things like the internet, cellphones, and game system have allowed the media to become more accessible reaching the big screen is at the click of a button. Now a days one doesn't have to be very talented in order to get screen time, anyone can do.And instant fame is not the only thing offer, the twentieth century technology as offered unlimited options of music, shopping, and entertainment. Rick Rolling

Rick Rolling was a huge thing back in the days and is still an occasional office prank so when my professor gave us the opportunity to do one of my own I knew the perfect candidate. My coach, Corey Fox, wasn't very talkative and had a dry sense of humor but very sweet. In other words, an extremely qualified victim. I immediately knew I wanted to do it through email because I wanted the suspense to start off with an insane subject that made opening it irresistible but what should it be? It could say " I'm leaving" or  "I got something to get off my chest" but that just wasn't doing it for me. I needed something that would knock him off his feet, something that he just wouldn't expect from me. Then it came to me, I pulled out my laptop and logged into my email. I rummaged through my email contacts for Corey Fox then opened up a new email, I let the cursor blink over the subject line as I thought of all consequences that could come after this then came

Keyboard Cat

History: What a lot of people don't know is that the original Keyboard Cat video was actually made in 1984 as a funny home video then later became a YouTube and internet sensation when the video was uploaded to YouTube in 2007. The baggy blue T-shirt wearing feline's name was "Fastso" but Schmidt later changed the title to "Charlie Schmidt's Keyboard Cat". My thoughts:  This video was very creative and the first of its kind with many to follow after. Defiantly one of the more know viral videos that is still used today in sitcoms and televisions shows.
