Photo remakes

When were assigned to randomly pick two photos and then recreate them putting our own little spin on it.



1.) My first photo was by Lee Friedlander, 1983. He was known for turning his shadow into art and entertainment for others, seeing his shadow as not just a counter reflection from the light but some what of a life long companion. So I recreated the photo with that very thought in mind, though I took a different approach I wanted to keep the concept of a "life partner". I took a picture of my hand and my shadow touching each other because I wanted to create a sense of longing. Some people search all their lives for a soulmate and Lee Friedlander reminds us that we are already born with one.






2.) My second photo was Garry Winogrand's  New York World's Fair, 1964. It was a picture of a group of people interacting naturally. There was A lot of personality and individuality in this picture, so for my recreation I wanted to take a picture of a group of people simple being them while having a discussion during an FCA meeting. There was some that choice to stay to themselves and others who laughed and joked about the lesson of the day, all completely natural and happy.

The excerpt from the article " The Long Trail" is about a speaker comparing his limited media experiences as an adolescence in the seventies and eighties to unlimited options of the common day adolescence of the twentieth century. He sums up both experiences in two words, niches and hits. Keyboard Cat

History: What a lot of people don't know is that the original Keyboard Cat video was actually made in 1984 as a funny home video then later became a YouTube and internet sensation when the video was uploaded to YouTube in 2007. The baggy blue T-shirt wearing feline's name was "Fastso" but Schmidt later changed the title to "Charlie Schmidt's Keyboard Cat". My thoughts:  This video was very creative and the first of its kind with many to follow after. Defiantly one of the more know viral videos that is still used today in sitcoms and televisions shows.

Rick Rolling

Rick Rolling was a huge thing back in the days and is still an occasional office prank so when my professor gave us the opportunity to do one of my own I knew the perfect candidate. My coach, Corey Fox, wasn't very talkative and had a dry sense of humor but very sweet. In other words, an extremely qualified victim. I immediately knew I wanted to do it through email because I wanted the suspense to start off with an insane subject that made opening it irresistible but what should it be? It could say " I'm leaving" or  "I got something to get off my chest" but that just wasn't doing it for me.
