This article was extremely relatable and in my opinion, hit the nail right on the head. Reading a book, newspaper, comic book, etc.use to be seen as a luxury but now it has become more of a task. But why is that? I believe its because through the years technology has grown so much to where it does the thinking for us. Why read twenty books searching for an answer for one question for a homework assignment, when you can simple type the question onto google or any search engine for that matter and have the answer given to you in seconds. Or even spend leisure time reading, when you can log onto Netflix and have instant entertainment.
Technology has created a "fast life" of instant gratification that anything that takes longer than minute either frustrates or bores us. And this has caused a huge impact on children's and adult learning because not only does it make it harder to focus but it limits or knowledge on things. In the past where you have to search relentlessly for answers you gained extra knowledge along the way but now that is lost. So now, instead of learning maybe five or ten new things when doing research, you only learn one and most times you don't even retain that information.
